Please read this page in its entirety so that you fully understand our adoption meeting appointment scheduling process
View all adoptable dogs on our website and decide which dog you’d like to meet. You will only be able to request an adoption appointment to meet one dog. You will submit an adoption questionnaire as an appointment request. Our staff will review your request and you will receive an email from a staff member if our staff has approved your appointment.
If your adoption appointment is confirmed the dog you are meeting will be held for you to meet. No other potential adopters will be able to schedule an appointment for that dog. Please double check that the dog you are requesting an appointment for does not have their profile marked as “no longer accepting appointment requests”
Please only request an appointment if you are serious about adopting a pet and have every intention of keeping your appointment.
Expect to spend approximately 45 minutes -1 hour at your appointment. Your appointment is in person, here at our facility located at 9101 SE Stanley Ave. Portland OR 97206.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT
Everyone that lives in your home, including the other dogs are required to come to your appointment.
If you rent your home we require landlord approval for certain breeds. The best way to do this is to get it in writing prior to your appointment ( noting any age, breed, or weight restrictions ).
If the dog is a great fit for you all adoption paperwork will be done during your appointment, if your adoption application is approved be prepared to take your new dog home with you at that time!
You will receive a leash & collar, a few toys & treats along with a two day sample of their dog food.
Other things to know
Your appointment request may be declined for a few different reasons:
Another appointment is already set for said dog. ( If there is no ‘Request an adoption appointment for’ button on the dog’s profile that means that they already have an appointment scheduled for them. )
The dog is not a good match for your home.
Breed restrictions.
Everyone in the home, or your other dog, is not able to come to the appointment.We ask that you only request an adoption appointment if you are prepared and ready to adopt a dog today. Please do not take the opportunity away from a family who is ready if you are early in your search, “just looking”, already have an adoption appointment scheduled elsewhere or not in place to actually adopt at this time.
We would never expect you to adopt the dog you meet if they are not a good fit for you, however we ask that you do not schedule an appointment if you know that you have no intention of adopting a dog.
Please do not request an appointment if you plan to meet dogs elsewhere. We ask that you wait, and schedule with us once you know that you are sure that you are going to keep your requested appointment with us.

Please note that appointments can not be scheduled more than 48 hours in advance, this means you can only see available appointments within the next two days.
*Scheduling for Saturday appointments begins at 11:00 am on Thursday*
available appointment times will begin to display as it reaches exactly 48 hours UNTIL that appointment time.
E.G the 11am appointment for Saturday will display at 11am on Thursday, the 12pm appointment for Saturday will display at 12pm on Thursday and so on…
please check back if no appointments are available up as reserved appointments often become available again.
*Please ignore the fine print below that may say we have “no times available for the next month”. This is a feature that the scheduling website does not allow us to change. This is not accurate. Just remember that appointments cannot be scheduled more than 48 hours in advance so if you are trying to schedule on a Wednesday, or Thursday morning you will not see any available appointments, since we are closed*
