ADONIS

German Shepherd + Belgian Malinois Mix
2 years old
Male
83 pounds

Sure, I may not know much about Greek mythology, but I am still a great creator of love! I am a sweet, playful, and affectionate fella. Plus, just look at this mug—you don’t have to be Aphrodite to see that I am one stunning fella. I’m not ashamed to say that some extra training sure wouldn’t hurt; I wanna be as well-behaved as I am handsome! I get along great with other dogs, and sturdy kids are welcome in my realm, but cats will be cast out like Hephaestus! It doesn’t take much wisdom and you don’t have to be Athena to figure out that I am the boy for you.

2 years old-83lbs. My adoption fee is $220 and includes neuter, microchip & registration, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

ARCHIE

Black Labrador Retriever Mix

2 years old

Male

60 pounds

Did you know Archie is short for the Scottish name Archibald and means “true and bold”? Well, I’ll have you know I’m truly adorable and not afraid to be bold—I want you to take me home! Is that bold enough for ya? At 2 years old I am just coming into my own, so I may need a confidence boost now and then. Plenty of training, guidance, and love, too. It doesn’t take much to make me feel uneasy and unsure, so a stable environment is what I need. I guess I’ll just wait around patiently until I find someone who can assist me with this. Maybe you’ll make a great candidate? I am already crate trained, housebroken and have had lots of training- it’s like a Webster’s Dictionary up in here with all the commands I know! What I just can’t seem to learn is how to share my food, so a family with calm & respectful children 10+ will be best. I do get along well with other dogs and wouldn’t mind having a canine buddy, but I have been unable to befriend the kitty cat…hence the reason I am the hunt for a new home. So, what do you think? Do I sound like a candidate for your love?

2 years old-60lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes neuter, microchip & registration, 1 month pet health insurance, free vet exam, reduced-cost training class, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Armond

McNab + Australian Cattle Dog Mix
2 years old
Male
55 pounds

People always ask me, “Armond, what are you smiling about?” And I have to say, “I can’t help but be happy!” So maybe I haven’t had the best life so far, being picked up as a stray and all, but you can’t dwell on all the negatives or the happiness will fly by while you’re bumming! So this fella keeps a stiff upper lip and a smile on his face! I get along great with other dogs and don’t mind sharing attention. I do mind sharing a house with cats, though, they are just so pessimistic I can’t live around their attitudes. I do love sturdy children 7+ and would love to keep them entertained with plenty of play. Then at the end of the day we can all cuddle up and watch family movies. Might I suggest All Dogs Go To Heaven? It’s one of my favorites! Oh! And if there is ever a time when the family needs to be away without me, I have been learning crate training for just such an occasion so you won’t have to worry about me while you’re gone. I want to do my part to make your life happier and easier! What do you say? You have room in your heart for my big smile and PMA?

2 years old-53lbs. My adoption fee is $220 and includes neuter, microchip & registration, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

BLUEFER

Beagle + Labrador Retriever Mix
4 years old
Male
33 pounds

Loveable little lad seeks new digs…Hi, my name is Bluefer, and guess what? I think I might be just the friend you have been looking for. I do well with other dogs (but don’t always like to share my person’s love) cats, and gentle kids too. I am even crate trained already. People describe me as calm, gentle, and easy to work with. A total love. I mean, I really don’t know what more I can say—do you have room in your heart and home for a sweet little lad in need of a new life?

Bonnie

Australian Cattle Dog + Pointer Mix
4 years old
Female
32 pounds

So yeah, I guess you could describe me as a scaredy cat. I am not afraid to admit that I am afraid. That is the first step to recovery, right? Admitting the problem. Hello, my name is Bonnie, and I am a scaredy cat. Wow! That really feels a lot better! I feel like I am really opening up here. I think that is all I really need, someone to open up to. Someone that won’t judge me, someone that will listen, someone that will give me the time to actualize my true potential. Someone to give me the TLC I am craving. I am already crate trained, good with respectful and gentle children 12+, and would love to have a canine friend to keep me company! I might even tolerate a kitty cat if you have one who sticks to themselves. Wow! Just letting all this out I feel like a new dog already! Will you give me the opportunity to become the best dog I can be?

4 years old-32lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes spay, microchip & registration, reduced-cost training class, 1 month pet health insurance, free veterinary exam, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Buster Keaton

Rat Terrier + Basenji Mix
5 years old
Male
11 pounds

I have taken a lot of hard knocks in my short little life. Hit the ground and bounce back up, because the show must go on. I feel I would do my namesake proud. The sacrifice that you endure for what you love makes happiness so much sweeter. I want a family that will love me and appreciate me, and know that through all of life’s twists and turns I will be there for them. I might be a little rough around the edges, but some people find diamonds in the rough. I am already housebroken and my crate training is going well- I really do like to learn new things! I probably won’t learn how to live with cats or chickens, so that lesson might as well go out the window. I think I would get along well with respectful children 12+ that know proper pet etiquette and I love to play and roughhouse with other dogs (but I might not share your lap with them). As I said, the show must go on, so how would you like a starring role in my life?

5 years old-11 lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes microchip, neuter, 1 month pet health insurance, free veterinary exam, reduced-cost training class, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample. leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

CINDY CRAWFORD

Pit Bull Terrier + Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix
2 1/2 years old
Female
46 pounds

Do you think I have “the look”? You know, so that I might set the canine modeling world on fire! I am also looking into design; my love line of fashion comes pret-a-porter, and I think it will look fabulous on you! I do need an agent to help me get discovered—is that something that would interest you? You can help me build my portfolio! Wouldn’t that be fantastic? You might also be able to help me with my training! You have seen enough episodes of America’s Next Top Model to give me some pointers, right? I know it will take some dedication and drive to reach my goal of becoming a doggy supermodel, but I already have a great start—I can share the runway with other large dogs or sturdy children 8+, but kitty cats & small dogs best get out of my shot! You can even put a spotlight on my crate training and housebreaking skills, and you’ll see that they are nearly flawless. With your help and commitment, I know I can rise to icon status! Then won’t you feel pretty cool having an internationally published pup on the end of your leash? Let’s work to make both our dreams come true!

2 ½ years old-46lbs. My adoption fee is $200 and includes spay, microchip & registration, 1 month pet health insurance, reduced-cost training class, free vet exam, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Cookie

Australian Cattle Dog + Boxer + Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix
2 years old
Female
42 pounds

You have been good, right? You deserve a little treat, right? How about a sweet little love snack that will pad your heart and not your midsection? I just might know a little lady who wants to be your dessert—me, Cookie! I am a real loving, affectionate and loyal little lady, and once I get to trusting you, my shyness melts away like warm hot fudge! I enjoy hanging out with all the other doggies here; they are really helping to boost my confidence! But I did not enjoy meeting those pesky cats, so a home without them is best. Being that I am a sensitive and gentle lady, I would prefer a home with children 10+ to be sure your little ones know how to treat a little girl like me with patience and respect. Rumor has it I am fully housebroken, and I have even been receiving some crate training lessons here—I think I got a pretty good understanding what it’s all about! If you have a low traffic home and craving for a BFF then come get a taste of this sweet treat, cuz I am fresh out of the love oven and looking to warm things up!

2 years old-42lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes spay, microchip & registration, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Daisy

Carolina Dog + Australian Cattle Dog Mix
6 years old
Female
50 pounds

He loves me…he loves me not…he loves me…oh, I hope that you will love me! I want to be loved so much I can taste it! I promise I am the most loyal girl in town, and the most protective. There is nothing that I love more than my person, and boy am I a devoted guardian.  I just know that there has got to be someone out there who can appreciate this special skill set. Someone without children, who appreciates a homebody and has a very small social circle- a low traffic home where I will be allowed plenty of time to warm up to strangers. I am house trained, crate trained, love to play with other big dogs (but don’t always like to share my ball), can cuddle like nobody’s business, and am very loyal and obedient to those I love. The one thing I can’t seem to do is get along with cats, but who wants to be friends with those snooty butts anyway? They say if you love a flower to let it be, for if you pick it, it will cease to exist. But if you pick this flower then we will exist together forever.

6 years old-50lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes: spay, microchip, 1 month pet health insurance, reduced-cost training class, free vet exam, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Jojo

Toy Fox Terrier Mix
10 years old
Male
12 pounds

Hi! I am Jojo! Wake me up before you go-go! Don’t leave me hanging on like a yo-yo. Cuz that’s a no-no! Just kidding, except for the part about my name. You know how Jojos go so well with chicken strips? Well, that’s what I am looking for…the chicken strip that will go perfectly with this Jojo! It’ll have to be a special recipe, since I am a pretty special lil potato. I’m longing for an understanding, loving, and patient person who will help me become the best dog I can possibly be. I have a long road ahead of me, but I will try my best. With consistency and positive reinforcement I will be on my way to learning to trust again in no time. I get along with other dogs very well, I am not a fan of cats though and I will need an adult-only home—grabby hands and the youthful energy of children is just too much for me. I do love to get gentle scratches behind the ear and snuggle in the blankets, and I will stick by your side like glue…just give me a little time to trust you. I also love to play with my toys, I enjoy going for brisk walks around the neighborhood, and my crate training is top-notch! So what do you say? Wanna be my chicken strip?

10 years old-12lbs. My adoption fee is $100 and includes neuter, microchip, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Joy

Boxer + Australian Shepherd Mix
18 months old
Female
50 pounds

Oh boy, let me tell you, with a name like Joy I have a lot to live up to! Well, no problem! I am a joy, a joy to be around, a joy to love, a reason to be joyous! I adore children 8+ who are big and sturdy enough to keep up with me! I’m a pretty smart gal who is affectionate, exuberant and soooo playful. I really enjoy playing with other BIG dogs (as long as they can handle me and know who is boss!) I also love a good game of fetch, and am great at hunting cats- so a home without them would be best. What I need is someone who is interested in teaching me new things (cuz boy do I want to learn!) – especially when it comes to my leash manners. See I have this thing called leash reactivity which means that I can get pretty defensive and excited if people or other animals get too close when I am out on a walk.  I am a super people-focused girl, not the type of lady to leave out in the back yard all the time, I want to be in the house with my family! Did I mention I am getting that hang of crate training thing and I am housebroken too?! I’d say that is already a pretty great start to everything else you’re going to teach me. Let’s start with working with the leash manners, okay? Well hurry up and let’s spread some Joy!

18 months old-50lbs. My adoption fee is $220 and includes spay, microchip & registration, reduced-cost training class, 1 month pet health insurance, free veterinary exam, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

JUPITER

Foxhound + Shar Pei Mix
1 year old
Male
39 pounds

I’m telling you, my friendship is otherworldly, but at the moment I’m feeling like I’m on a whole different planet. This is a scary universe, after all! Now, if only I had the power to find myself a place to call home. Give me to time to trust, to feel safe, to know that I am secure and it will come as no surprise that I am so full of love and so full of fun—after all, I am sure to be the largest “planet” in the solar system…with 2½ times the love of all other canines combined! That’s more than enough love to share with your other dogs, with your respectful & gentle children, and even your cats. I’m already crate trained and housebroken, and I love to cuddle. Just know I get pretty nervous in new situations. All I want is to be the best canine companion possible, and with your love, training, guidance, and forever commitment, I do believe we can make it happen. Don’t worry, you don’t have to travel to outer space—just head on down to Family Dogs and ask for Jupiter!

1 year old-39lbs. My adoption fee is $240 and includes neuter, microchip, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

LINDSEY

Chow Chow + Labrador Retriever Mix
5 years old
Female
50 pounds

A little bit of loving goes a long way. I have more than a little bit to spare, but it will take a little bit of effort. I can be kinda shy, so I need someone to help build my confidence with things like positive-reinforcement training, lots of praise, and continued socialization. I want to learn so many new things about love and life with the help of a confident but patient instructor. Gentle children 10+ would be okay to have around the house, and I get along with other dogs of my size but would prefer to live without cats. I have been crate training since coming to the shelter, and I would really like to continue it since the crate makes me feel safe. I like to have a quiet little place to chill out if things get too stressful. I got a bunch of little bits that make up a pretty great dog. Come see for yourself!

5 years old-50lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes spay, microchip & registration, 1 month pet health insurance, free vet exam, reduced-cost training class, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Lucky

Labrador Retriever + German Shepherd Mix
8 years old
Male
90 pounds

I got my rabbit’s foot, my horse shoe…Let’s see, I have my four-leaf clover, and my acorn… The penny I found on the sidewalk, my bamboo, I licked a frog and counted to seven, seven times… All right! I think I am ready! Let’s get me adopted!! What’s that? You think I am an amazing specimen of canine and you don’t think I will need all this stuff? You think my loyal personality, mature demeanor, big brains, and 90 pounds of handsome looks is enough for anyone to scoop me up? (Metaphorically lifting with the legs and a proper back brace) Well, thank you! I was a little worried. I mean, I get along great with the other dogs here and will happily admit I do prefer the ladies, I am crate trained and housebroken, and won’t mind sharing my love with respectful older children 12+ but the luck runs out when it comes to cats! I’m also very food motivated and eager to learn new things, but not always eager to trust new people…especially the doctor! I feel uneasy about being overly handled, so I ask that you take things slow and easy at first. You know something? I just may be all the luck I need to find myself the forever home I’ve been dreaming of!

8 years old-90lbs. My adoption fee is $160 and includes neuter, microchip & registration, 1 month pet health insurance, free vet exam, reduced cost training class, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

MICKEY

Australian Cattle Dog + Cocker Spaniel Mix
1 year old
Male
38 pounds

M-I-C…K-E-Y…M-O-U…wait, wait! It’s just Mickey, and I am waaayyyy cuter than that silly mouse! I bet I could be an icon, too, with these good looks and comical personality. I am fun and playful, great with other dogs, and very, very loyal. I do enjoy my playful antics and have a great sense of humor…until a stranger tries to come into the house and get too close to my person! Since I haven’t yet learned to share my most beloved, a home with children 12+ is a must. I am housebroken already, I am also crate trained and know all kinds of commands and tricks—yes, I am quite smart! I just love to go for walks, though I could use more training on leash, and I’ll even run beside a bicycle with you. So if you’re looking for a fun, active, loyal, and protective buddy, come along and sing a song with me!

1 year old-38lbs. My adoption fee is $220 and includes neuter, microchip & registration, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, reduced-cost training class, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

MR DARBY

Pug + Corgi Mix
6 years old
Male
23 pounds

I’m fast and fun, like the Kentucky Darby! Wait, it’s Derby? Well darn, that sure messes up my flow… anyway, I’m fun, loving, and just plum cute. Now I don’t always get along with everybody I meet…I can be a tad protective and need a little time to warm up to new people. A family with kids 12+ will be more my style. I love to play with other dogs and let me tell ya, I love a good cat chase! Even though I’m a full-grown man, I’m still a puppy at heart! I am housebroken already and crate trained too, and I even know a whole bunch of commands. I’m also smart as a whip and I love treats and toys, so continued training will not only be a blast, it should pretty easy too! Are you ready? Get ready for the Kentucky Darby!

6 years old-23lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes neuter, microchip & registration, 1 month pet health insurance, reduced cost training class, free vet exam, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

NUKA

Siberian Husky
6 years old
Male
62 pounds

Listen up, recruits! I just got the orders from the top brass. We must hold our position until we get the love reinforcements we need. This is going to be one heck of a fight, but when you believe in something as pure as love and friendship, you dig deep inside and see it through till the end. I won’t give up on you, and I expect the same, soldier! I’m loyal and loving, a true friend not only to you but to your sturdy children 12+ and other dogs of substantial size. I’m not just fighting for my shot at true love, I am also fighting the eternal battle against cats. As you know, the Cat vs. Dog wars have been going on since the dawn of time, and I am not laying down arms anytime soon! Although a bit stubborn, I am a smart fella and a quick learner, which made it really easy for my crate training to take effect. Rumor has it I am already housebroken too! What else do you think you can teach me? Now, let’s move, team! This world ain’t gonna love itself!

6 years old-62lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes microchip & registration, neuter, reduced-cost training class, 1 month pet health insurance, free veterinary exam, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

OLLIE

Std Schnauzer + Scottish Deerhound Mix
4 years old
Male
60 pounds

Why not take Ollie me? Ollie me home, that is! Ok, I admit that was a bit silly…but humor is a good ice-breaker, and I need something to help me feel a bit more at ease in new, stressful situations. I just need someone patient and gentle to help me feel more secure. I do love to play with other dogs, so I wouldn’t mind sharing my home with them. And if you have a cat, make sure they stay away from my food bowl! I have lived with cats before, but we did have to be kept separate cuz he just wouldn’t stay out of my dinner! Truth is, I don’t like to share my food with anyone—try to take it away and I’ll tell you all about how I feel. A family with older children or teens who can understand how to give me my space while eating is just what I need. I may not have learned to share yet, but there are so many other things I know: crate training, housebreaking, basic commands, riding in the car… I excel at it all! I’m super affectionate and I love the heck out of my people. I just need guidance, patience, and a forever home…and the opportunity to love you. Ollie you!

4 years old-60lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes neuter, microchip & registration, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Oso

Black Labrador Retriever + German Shepherd Mix
6 1/2 years old
Male
65 pounds

So I hear you’re looking for a new best friend? Someone who is a real sweet heart…well, I may be just who you’re looking for! I am O-so affectionate and O-so loving. If you’re looking for someone to accompany you on your daily walk,  a buddy to tag along on your weekend hikes, or a pal to take to the beach, I’d be more than happy to join since I am O-so loyal and enjoy a good time. How about a friend for your other dog? I am O-so lovable and affectionate, I’ll make a wonderful companion for your other dog or respectful older children 8+, but I am not O-so willing to share my home with cats. Some people say I’m O-so quirky; I had a really rough puppy-hood that left me with a neurological condition called epilepsy which causes me to have seizures when I get too over stimulated. But don’t worry, aside from these occasional manifestations of an intense love obsession with going after my own tail (I’m pretty sure its playing hard to get) you’d never even notice! I’m keeping my crate O-so clean and tidy, such a great start to all the other awesome stuff you can teach me…since I am O-so smart. So how about it… don’t I sound O-so right?

6 1/2 years old-65lbs. My adoption fee is $120 and includes; neuter, microchip & registration, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

PAN

Labrador Retriever + Border Collie + Pit Bull Terrier Mix
1 year old
Male
60 pounds

Name’s Pan. Some people think it’s short for Panda, cuz I am an endangered species. You know, I’m one of a kind and in danger of overpopulating your heart with love!
Others think it’s short for Marzipan cuz I’m that sweet and sugary treat you’ve been daydreaming about since lunch. I’m a super people-focused dude who loves attention. I soak it up like a sponge cake!
I prefer to think it’s short for Peter Pan, a mischievous young boy who never wants to grow up! At just a year old I am still a bit of a puppy, full of fun and adventure. I’m longing to find my very own Neverland filled with all of the love, guidance, and playtime I deserve. I adore the attention of sturdy children and enjoy playing with other dogs, just so long as they remember that I am the leader of these lost boys. Cats, on the other hand, will be forced to walk the plank! I may be young at heart and in need of some guidance, but I am already crate trained and eager to learn a whole lot more.
So whether you prefer Panda, Marzipan, or Peter come on in and ask for Pan!

1 year old-60lbs. My adoption fee is $240 and includes neuter, microchip & registration, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, reduced-cost training class, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Poppy

Australian Cattle Dog + Beagle + Rat Terrier Mix
3 years old
Female
20 pounds

Just a timid flower, waiting to take root in a place I can call home. What do you think? Are you willing to take me in and let my heart blossom? In turn I promise to be your devoted companion. I will be pleased to sit by your side, receiving the occasional pat on the head. I will be eager to go for a morning walk or have a fun day playing in the back yard. I ‘ll share my flower bed with other dogs, as long as they respect me of queen of the garden but cats must be weeded out!  Calm respectful children 14+, are welcome too but know that my strongest trait is my desire to protect those who I hold dear. I also keep my little flower pot, aka crate, and home free of debris or refuse. It may take me a moment to trust, but if you are patient and seeking a new best friend I will root myself right in your heart!

3 years old-20lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes spay, microchip, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

RUGER

Great Dane Mix
1 year old
Male
75 pounds

Pow! Pow! Ruger here just took aim and shot you full of love kisses! Are you reeling? I think I hit you smack dab in the heart! I am one cool companion: sweet, friendly, and packed with personality! I am fun and playful and will enjoy lots of adventure, but I am also very affectionate and love to cuddle. I enjoy the company of respectful children 7+ so long as they are sturdy enough to handle 70 pounds of love, and I even like to play with cats—but I am pretty sure it’s much more fun for me than it is for them, so a cat-free family is best. And let me tell ya, I am having a blast running and wrestling with other dogs—in fact, it is one of my favorite things! I may be a bit of a puppy still but I am catching on to new things real quick—like this whole crate training thing I am learning here! Now I’ve got you in my crosshairs....and it’s a bull’s-eye!

1 year old- 75lbs. My adoption fee is $240 and includes neuter, microchip & registration, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

62 pounds

Listen carefully...the next 60 seconds could change your life! You may have found the best deal in town. I am Vincenzo, a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd/Border Collie/Great Pyrenees mix dressed in a coat of stunning black and white fur. A sweet, sensitive, intelligent, devoted guardian in the making. There isn’t much I can tell you about my history, since I was found as a stray, but I would benefit from someone who really knows my breed and the guardians we are meant to be. I can say that I have taken to my crate training quickly, but my favorite place to be is outdoors. I do hate cats but get along well with other dogs who respect me as boss, and I would just adore the gentle affection of sturdy, respectful children 8+. Don’t forget, this Vincenzo comes with a lifetime “love and companionship” warranty. If you ever have a bad day, Vinnie here will be there to brighten it.
