I’m 15 pounds of Interstate Warrior barreling down on your heart and I am not hitting the brakes… I am shifting gears! I may have logged quite a few miles on my paws in the last 11 years, but this Diesel isn’t slowing down. I may be willing to pick up a couple of hitchhikers though if you wanna find where the black river ends. I have some pretty good road stories to swap with you but these aren’t tales for children so best I not share my home with them. Spending so much time on the road you learn ways to ride well in vehicles, and learn how to space out your rest stops. So housetraining came real easy to me, and the crate training I am learning here is even simpler. Since I put in so many hours on my keister I love to get out and move around when I am off the road… I’m used to sharing my quarters with cats and love a good chase and I have been getting along well with the dogs here at the shelter but when I get leash and collar on me I tend to get a little reactive…you’ll hear me blowing my horn and burning rubber. What a good show I can put on! Some patience and positive & consistent training will go a long way, you sure can teach this old dog all the trick! I got a shipment of love to unload and if think your heart is on my receiving list!

Oh my darlin’, oh my darlin’, oh my darlin’ forever family, I thought you were lost and gone forever but now I know you’ll be there for me! Just a little positive motivation for my soon to be happy future! I say a little ol hound like me sure could use a nice rug and porch to spend the days. I sure would love me a home with maybe some respectful kids 5+ to play with. Maybe a canine compadre to hang out with on the account I get along with other dogs so well, you could call me social. The nice folks here are showing me all about crate training and I am already house trained and will let you know when I got to go to the outhouse. But I ain’t just a homebody, heck no! I like to go out hiking, be all in the woods, maybe chase some squirrels. I like to stay active, it’s good for the ticker! One thing I don’t like is cats, or other small lil critters. I hear you have bumtickerlameheartalitus? Well ol’ Doc here might just have the cure for you! An intensive therapy of snuggles and belly rubs! Mind you this kind of recovery can be a little invasive (wherein I invade your heart!) I will have you know that I only treat a particular set of cliental. At my age I don’t have time to waste, so I am looking for the right patients. Those patients I do select will need to have patience because I can be a little gruff upon first meeting, I am told. Other canines and even felines will fit the bill but only kids 12+ for me, I need those that will be gentle, respectful and listen to a dog of my stature. Man did I have it good, working as part of the Prison Pet Partnership….surrounded by ladies at the woman’s prison….oh man do I love the ladies! Tough part was all the male guards, I wasn’t too keen on them. Truth is, I am quite the scary cat around the more masculine gender. Guys just make so darn nervous and although I was getting tons of great training being part of the prison program I just wasn’t able to get all the socialization I need in order to overcome my insecurities around men. I guess I just need the opportunity to get out from behind bars and experience all the great things the free world has to offer me. Starting with a gentle yet active family to help guide me. I won’t mind sharing my home with other dogs, or children 12+ but please no cats… I have great house manners, am housebroken and crate trained too so I promise to make a wonderful house dog. I am loving, affectionate and loyal, so I promise to make an excellent companion. And if you promise to continue helping me with my training and socializing I promise to make you proud.
