Courtney

Yellow Labrador Retriever Mix
6 years old
Female
63 pounds

Me, homeless?! This is a travesty! Unfair! I must have justice and I will have my day in Court! Or better yet, how about you have your day…in Court-ney! Love will be found, justice will be served, and I will no longer be homeless. I mean, you won’t be able to meet me and just walk away—it will be love at first sight, case closed. Well, so long as you don’t have kitty cats or livestock. I can’t be held accountable for my actions…the desire to chase is beyond my control. Other dogs are fine by me, and I do adore children, as long as they are old enough to handle my size and strength. I do have good house manners and excellent crate training and I assure you that with proper love, training, and consistency I can learn all you want to teach me. Maybe even pass the Bar exam, I’m that smart. So there you have it, the verdict is in: Courtney is the gal for you!

6 years old-63lbs. My adoption fee is $160 and includes: spay, microchip, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam,1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Dolly

Shar Pei + Husky Mix
3 years old
Female
61 pounds

What is a sweet, gentle, uniquely beautiful Doll like me doing hanging out in a shelter? Beats me, but I can tell you I will not be hanging out long. I am on my way to a bigger and brighter future where I can take walks to the park, go for rides, and cuddle on the couch. Add a little training time, plenty of treats, and a whole lot of love and you’ve got my dream home. I like other dogs just fine and won’t mind sharing my home with them, but cats just don’t fit into my fairytale. A family with kids would be fabulous, as long as the youngsters are old enough to understand that I am a lady and must be treated as such. A little respect is all I ask, and in return I’ll give you the same….I’ll keep my crate clean and tidy, walk nicely on leash and sit when asked. I’ve got good energy but not too much. Ya know, I think I’d be well suited for apartment living or a rural life—I’ll love whatever life brings me, as long as I’m cherished, I’ll be happy.

3 years old-61lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes: spay, microchip, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam,1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Honey Bear

Pit Bull Terrier + Rhodesian Ridgeback Mix
1 year old
Female
54 pounds

You may be familiar with a Honey Bear more famous than me, but I don’t get myself into as many predicaments as he did. No, I really don’t find myself on too many adventures and I am also not the figment of a little boy’s imagination. I am 100% real flesh and fur, ready to sweeten up your days and cuddle up your nights! I am looking to complete a family out there that will show me what it means to be loved and give me the time and attention I deserve. My previous owner didn’t really have the time set aside for me so I am a little behind on my training and manners. But I am ready to learn, willing to try, and able to give it all of my effort! I have been doing pretty darn well at my crate training, so that is one area that I already have covered! Now I want to be honest with you about cats—I don’t think I will ever be able to overcome my contempt for them. But I get along with other dogs fantastically and would love to play with sturdy children 7+. And I’ve got energy to spare out on the trails or in the parks! Your love will never be a bother to me and I hope you will feel the same way!

1 year old-54lbs. My adoption fee is $200 and includes: spay, microchip, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam,1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Oliver

German Shepherd
6 years old
Male
81 pounds

Oliver Von Furbottom here, at your service! Me being a GSD, I like to come about things the nimble way, if you know what I mean. So let me get straight to stating the facts.

1) I am a Gentleman of love, first and foremost.
2) I search for the companionship of a Sir and/or Madame with or without children, who if in fact exist, are respectful in nature.
3) I have experience sharing my living quarters with other dogs and enjoy their company, as long as they refer to me as their leader. However, I prefer to keep my garden free of felines.
4) I am learning lots of new skills, and have so far mastered the art of crate training, sit, down and stay. I understand that there are many more I can learn, and long for you to teach me.
Other than that, right by roger I would love to have a go at yer ol’ ticker. Remember Oliver!

6 years old-81lbs. My adoption fee is $160 and includes: neuter, microchip, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam,1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Sox

Chow Chow + Border Collie Mix
12 years old
Female
50 pounds

People don’t really give socks a second thought. You put them on to insulate your feet, you take them off if it gets too hot. Does anyone ever think about the protective nature of socks? How they are your little shields against the elements and roughness of the insides of shoes. Socks are like the unsung heroes of the human foot world. This Sox wants to be your hero, too, but not a hero of your feet— the hero of your heart! I want to protect you from loneliness, insulate your love, and repel any attempts at heartache. I devoted a large part of my life to loving someone, and even though they are no longer with me that doesn’t mean my job is done. I can take my years of learning and make someone else happy and full of love. Respectful kids 7+ would love to be my buddies, other dogs love to have me around, I love cats, I am house trained and crate trained, and I have learned to observe the world with patience and understanding. I know there is more purpose out there for me to fulfill, and a family that needs a little more loving insulation.

12 years old-50lbs. My adoption fee is $80 and includes: spay, microchip, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam,1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Willie

Miniature Australian Shepherd
11 months old
Male
30 pounds

Some folks just have it better than others, I suppose. I’m Willie, the shy tri-color beauty in the back, that fella in the front is my bro. Let me tell ya, we weren’t so lucky. When you are born and raised in a puppy mill and hoarding situation, your perception of normalcy gets a little skewed. But we are trying to keep our chins up and soldier on. Everyone here at the shelter has been really nice and patient with us. And we are slowly and surely becoming more comfortable in our day to day interactions. It’s just kinda weird to have no attention or socialization to all of a sudden having people care about you, ya know? So we are just taking it one day at a time and making the best of it. Neither one of us has had any training whatsoever, but as a testament to our breed we are pretty smart and quick learners. Our crate training has been going really well, we have been socializing with the other dogs just great, and we even had a really excellent introduction to cats. It’s just the people thing we are kinda stressed about. I mean, we want love, we really and truly do, but how to do it and what it entails just seems so foreign to us. With time, patience, and love, we will get up to speed, I am sure. Even your little humans, I bet we could get along with them, too! All we have known is each other and being together. But we need to be able to walk the path of love and life on our own four paws. Maybe you could show us that there is a better life out there?

Chance

German Shepherd + Retriever Mix
8 years old
Male
102 pounds

Gimme one shot and I know I can hit that bull’s-eye on your heart. My name ain’t Cupid, but I reckon I have just as much love to throw around as that chubby baby. I been down a long hard road in this life, but I never let it break my spirit. Sure I can be cantankerous at times, but when you get to be my age you just don’t put up with as much guff as you used to. That is why children around me should be respectful of their elders. Same goes for my fellow dogs—they should be respectful as well. In my book, you get what you give and I don’t give cats any love, so I expect the same from them, which is fine by me. My crate training has been going really well and I am pretty excited about having my own little den of solace. I mosey at my own pace and don’t have too much giddyup, so low and slow is how I like to roll. I don’t really have any marathons in me anymore. But I still like to get out and throw the old ball around. If you can see it in your heart to give this old soldier one more tour of duty, I will pledge to you my heart, my love, and my honor.

Emmett

Boston Terrier + Shih Tzu Mix
3 years old
Male
15 pounds

Did you know that the name Emmett means universal strength? It does. But the sad truth is that I was given all this strength and still couldn’t bear the weight of the world on my shoulders. I thought I was doing the protective dog duty for which I was born, but instead I ruined the only life I knew. Now I am finding the strength to keep moving and looking to the future. I know I can’t have the life back that I had come to know as love and comfort, but I hope to find something that I will learn to love just as much. Having come from a loving family, I am a lot better off than some of the other mugs I have met around here. I am house trained, know “sit,” “down,” “wait,” “come,” and “off,” know how to ride in the car, get along with other dogs at the dog park, walk on a leash, and I am crate trained! Yeah, I paid attention when people taught me things. But I am only canine, and have my weaknesses as well. Such as, I like to chase cats, I don’t like sudden movements or strangers (or strangers making sudden movements), I can be a little resource-guardy at times, and I can be a little fence-barky. I would say those are my weaknesses and the things I have to work on. But you know what? It takes strength to admit your faults, and I guess I am strong enough to do that. I know that I can carry the happiness of my family on my shoulders once more, I just need to find a family that would want to carry me in their hearts.

Clementine

Rottweiler + Boxer Mix
5 years old
Female
57 pounds

Oh my darling, Oh my darling, Oh my Darling Clementine! You are lost and gone forever, dreadful sorry, Clementine. I love that song! Mainly because it has my name in it, but it’s kind of a sad song. Oh well, life isn’t always rainbows and candy. It kinda makes you appreciate the good times you have when a little melancholy saunters through your life. But I could really use one of those rainbows about now. I feel a little lost and would love the opportunity to share all the love I have to give. I have had some ups and downs in my life, and I’d really like to walk on the straight path. I have never really had consistency in my life, so it’s about time I find some security. Someone that can be consistent with me. I really love treats and listen well, I just really wanna do whatever kinda stuff you want to teach me! I do get pretty nervous and uneasy when put in stressful situations, so I am looking for a home with children 10+. I have lived with cats before and don’t really mind it, so I can put that on my resume, I suppose. And I absolutely love to have other dogs to play with! I have been crate trained for a while so I have that down pretty well. Maybe someone out there can give this southern girl another chance at love? It sure would do me good, and I might just brighten your world in a way you never expected.

Diva

German Shepherd
4 years old
Female
55 pounds

Oh girl! Don’t you think I got the sashay with the shante? I need to be the center of attention most of the time, but that’s what Divas were made for! If you are looking to become part of my entourage, then you should be knowledgeable about my GSD heritage. I am no slouch and have the personality to prove it! I prefer a small social circle, and can be choosy about who I associate with—children 5+ are my preferred standard, dogs that don’t try to steal my spotlight because in all honesty I’d rather be the only pet in a household, that in goes for cats too, no thanks! The crate training I am receiving is fabulous and I would prefer to have my own dressing room in the future. If I seem to intimidating to you, then, honey, this just isn’t going to work. I need an agent or personal assistant that isn’t going to be afraid to tell me when I am wrong (although I might disagree) because we won’t see growth unless we tend to our garden. Come meet me center stage and feel how warm this spotlight of love can be!

Moe

Chihuahua
10 years old
Male
5 pounds

They say mo money, mo problems, but with mo Moe you won’t have a care in the world! That’s right! I can take the edge off in trying times. Just look at me! I have all the snuggle cuddle power in the world wrapped up in my 5-pound frame! Life hasn’t been easy on me, but I have to look ahead to the brighter future! You can’t move forward if you are worried about what is behind you. So how about you and me set a course for happiness and good times! I get along with everyone I meet, respectful kids of all ages, cats of all kinds, and dogs of any flavor. I like to keep a pretty mellow lifestyle, so if you’re looking for a jogging partner or tae bo team mate you might need to look elsewhere. But if you’re into reading books on the couch and canoodling I am your main Moe! I may be up in my years, but I can still learn a thing or two, such as this crate training thing. And it is the perfect conditioning if someone wanted to, say, show me around town in their side bag for the day! As dogs we don’t get to choose our own destinies, but I believe goodness happens to those that help create it. I try very hard to create goodness for those around me, so I have a feeling something special is going to come my way.

Longhair Chihuahua+ Pomeranian Mix
4 years old
Male

Welcome to my laboratory! I like to perform all sorts of experiments in the name of science. I don’t like to be bothered with nonsense whilst conducting my analyses ‘cause I put my full focus and attention into that which I cherish most. Very selective efforts are made to find suitable lab partners. Only the most serious of adults are allowed to observe my work and possibly provide limited assistance. I don’t mind having other dogs or cats around: I find they can be very useful in acquiring certain materials that may otherwise be hard to come by. For extra-super-top-secret experiments I prefer to retire to my crate for the quiet and extra concentration it affords.  After a long hard day of scientific investigation, I like to curl up in a nice lap and have my ears rubbed. If science is a passion for you, too, maybe we can exchange research notes! I am getting really close to breaking the love genome and any input you could provide will be well rewarded with my heart.

Clancy

Boxer Mix
1 year old
Male
50 pounds

International espionage? Global terrorism? Cloak and dagger games? I might not be as exciting as some Tom Clancy novels, but this Clancy has a story to share that just might interest you. After trying my luck at love in the Golden State, I headed up to the great northwest for a change of scenery and a fresh start. I have an idea what I am looking for, but no idea how it will come to fruition. But that is part of the fun: the journey is just as important as the destination, isn’t it? I know I have new chapters in my life’s story to dedicate to respectful children 10+, as well as special sections devoted to my adulation of dogs but no cats for me. I’m getting a hold of my crate training very quickly, some might even say I’m a pro. I haven’t had a lot of time to experience this world, and what experiences I have had were severely lacking in structure and stability. I can be a little timid upon first meeting, but with time, training, and encouragement I know I can be the canine protagonist you have always dreamed of.

Chiki

Chihuahua + Rat Terrier Mix
3 years old
Male
10 pounds

Are you a little cheeky? I’m a little Chiki! You may not know it at first because it takes me a little bit to warm up to people. But once I feel I can trust you I will totally show you my loving, goofy spirit. I love to run and play with all sorts of toys. I can cuddle like nobody’s business and really enjoy lap time. But like I said, I don’t warm up to people easily, so don’t get discouraged if it’s not fireworks at first sight. Kids 10+ are better suited for me since they know how to go slow and be gentle. I just want to be honest and up front with you. I am housetrained and my crate training is coming along nicely. I don’t mind being around the other dogs here at the shelter, but I would really like to be the center of attention in my new home. I like to chase cats, just for fun, though—what dog doesn’t? If you have the patience to watch the magic unfold, I promise you I’ll be the Chiki little monkey you have been looking for to warm your heart.

Harley

Rhodesian Ridgeback + Labrador Retriever Mix
6 years old
Male
77 pounds

I am a man’s dog. A human’s dog. If you want a hunting buddy to walk with you in God’s country, then I am your boy. I don’t put up with guff from strangers, I tell it how it is and shoot from the hip. If you want cutesy and giddy, keep on looking. If you want loyalty and respect, I am your boy. But I ask for the same in return. I don’t like cats. Fair enough? Kids 12+ are more up my alley ‘cause I don’t get involved in kiddie games. I am not going to sugarcoat anything for you—I speak the truth—and for some that is hard to swallow. I do like the crate training I am learning here and having the freedom in my play group is very rewarding. But for my new home I would prefer a dog my size ‘cause I can’t stand little yipper-yappers. I am committed and loving to those that show me the same and will defend that which I love. I may not be the dog for everybody, but I will be the best darn dog for somebody.

Ballin’! I come back like Jordan wearing that number 23. You need love in your heart? I can be your whole team! I can hold your family down with a thousand tons of hearts. Once we meet, without my love you cannot be whole. We are champions, so if you want this ring, holla at ya boy, and we’ll go get this thing! That’s right! I am a champion! And we can be under those lights, center stage, in love for the world to see. Kids 10+ are the only ones that can play on my team, and I can ball with cats or other dogs all day! I am house trained and you know my crate skills are on point! If you think you got the skill to roll with me, let me see you play! I got you a first-class ticket on this Air Force One of love!

Rottweiler Mix

Everyone has a story to tell. For some it is comedy, for others it is drama, but some of us have lived through our own little horror. If you have heard about, or worse, seen the pictures from the O.A.S story, then you know of what I speak. But my story has a very happy ending, I can just feel it! I know I will find someone to love me and take care of me, help me work past my transgressions, and give me the forever home I dream about. I am not perfect, nobody is, but I will try my best to be your perfect. Kids 12+ will be my ideal match as I do have a tendency to guard what I hold dear (like a lot of us Rotties do), and know that older kids will be respectful of my boundaries. I despise cats, and don’t mind other dogs one bit but let’s be honest: people really are my main focus. That, and playing with my kong. I am already housetrained and am very accustomed to sleeping in my crate, I feel quite comfortable in there and look forward to having my own little bungalow in my new home! My story started out in despair but I hope it turns into the happily ever after I have been dreaming of. Can you help me write the last pages of my life’s novel?

You put the love in the Coconut, and mix ‘em both together. You put the love in the Coconut and then you feel much better. A-dop-ter! Can you relieve my sad heartache? Let me get this straight. I said A-dop-ter! Now let me get this straight; You put the love in the Coconut and mix ‘em both together? And then we feel much better! Now I won’t give you a bellyache, but once I get to know you I’ll be pretty sweet on you. Like some sweet Coconut pudding I need time to simmer before I reach my full loveable consistency. I get along well with other dogs and adults, so children 10+ will be required in order to get a taste of my love medicine. I am learning this crate training thing and I am really getting the hang of it! I like slow and easy living as opposed to fast paced, so if you are into canoodling and book reading then I am your dog! Base jumping and parasailing? Not really my thing. If you bring the love, I’ll bring the Coconut and we can mix them both up!

You don’t want just a slice of love, right? You want “TolTol” love! A love so complete that you can’t understand how you ever existed without it! That is what I bring to the table. It will take a bit for it to be discovered, but it is there. Like a diamond in the ruff! Sorry, dog pun. But I am “TolTol-ly” serious when I say I can be fearful when meeting new people. I am young, but I wasn’t brought up in the loving, supportive environment doggies deserve. I would do better in a home with children 8+ because they know how to be slow and gentle with sensitive souls like me. Cats I can handle, but they still weird me out. I mean, have you ever looked at a cat? They’re creepy, man! I really do love my crate training! I love to have a place all my own and all for me! A place where I can unwind when things get “TolTol-ly” overwhelming. I get along well with other dogs and they bolster my confidence, so I wouldn’t mind sharing a home with a new fur buddy! Like a puzzle, I may be slow to put together piece by piece, but once you see the “TolTol” picture I think you will fall in love.

I have a thirst for love. Ironic, since my name is an Aboriginal word meaning water. Like water, you can’t hold it or mold it without the proper tools. I was given a pretty bum start to my life. Neglected by my first family and never showered with the love and attention a new puppy seeks. I am still young and have a lot of life ahead of me, but I am basically back to square one. It will take a strong commitment from you to help me become the dog I know I can be.. Only the most respectful children 10+ will be helpful in acclimating me to the new loving home I have pictured in my head. I see myself on a lush green lawn, laughing and playing with my loving family, soaking up the sun. But when I meet new people, dark clouds roll in and my anxiety takes over. I get along great with other dogs and would really like to have another to show me around and kinda lead the way for me. And I really like that I have been crate trained ‘cause it’s nice to have a place to chill out when things become too much. It won’t be easy, and it won’t be quick, but the love I have buried within me will be the greatest reward for my true, loving, forever family.

Janis wanted a Mercedes Benz, I would be content with a family and friends. I am not asking much from this world. Maybe a little more love and a little more laughter. I could have done some things different in life. But you can’t spend your time focused on the past, cuz you will never be able to realize your future. I love to cuddle, and chase cats. I have a great start on my housebreaking, so long as you keep me on schedule and am getting a pretty good hang of this crate training; I like to have my own little doggie den to help me feel safe and secure. I have been running around with the other dogs here and it is a blast! Meeting strange dogs takes me a little bit though. I am not a prissy dog, not a fan of being groomed or pedicures…and I’ll let you know it. Kids 12+ are my speed, I like to surround myself with more mature individuals. Sure I may look like a cupcake, but I have a fire burning inside of me! Could your love be the fuel I need to set my heart aflame?

Most will get to chance to see Halley’s Comet maybe twice in a lifetime. But you could see Halley Canine everyday! Yep, If you can open up your universe for me, I will shine brighter than anything you have ever had in your life. I have a love that will shine brighter than 1,000 suns and fill your heart with the greatest light. I have been touring this great cosmos searching for that special someone to complete my orbit and I think I may have just found  them…you! I do get along with other dogs, but if there are other dogs in my constellation don’t expect me to share my tennis ball or goodies with them. I displayed some leash reactivity in my last home, so a family with an experienced person who will have the confidence to help me master my leash skills will be a necessity. My crate is like heaven on earth and I would not mind snoozing the day away while you are work; so I will be all rested for our nights of wonder. I am also very well housetrained! Let me show you how wonderful your universe can be with me shining brightly at the center!

Buddy Boy

♫My Buddy, my Buddy, my Buddy, my Buddy and me!♫ That will be the song in your heart when you find me in your life! I mean just look at this face! This is the kinda mug that makes Buddy material….And Buddy Boy material makes a suit of love that is prêt-à-porter! Buddy Boy also make a great little protector…my small stature won’t keep me from acting like the toughest guy in town when strangers intrude. Like any good Buddy should I love going for walks, playing fetch, going for car rides or playing tug-of-war. Or we can just canoodle on the couch and watch seasons of Cake Boss on Netflix. I like cake, and other people named Buddy making a difference in the world through cake! I know sit and down, I am house trained, and my crate training is coming along great. I don’t like being over handled or roughed around, so only kids 12+ can be my buddies. I will be the best Buddy Boy that you ever did know! ♫Your Buddy, your Buddy, your Buddy, your Buddy and You!♫

Rocky

Chihuahua + Dachshund Mix

First name Rocky, last name Balboa. Cuz it might take a few rounds in the ring to crack this shell, but let me tell ya, once I warm up I pack a mean love punch! I just need you to be patient and gentle, so a family with children 8+ only need step up to the ring.
First name Rocky, last name Road. Cuz I’m sweet like candy. Sweet and affection to those I know and trust, kind to other canines and felines alike. And the more opportunities I have to socialize the more delightful I’ll become.
First name Rocky, last name Bullwinkle. Cuz I got adorable antics, that’ll keep you smiling on even the loneliest days. I know a few tricks like ‘sit’ and ‘come’. I’ll give the cutest little nudge with my nose when I want some petting and my stellar crate training skills are nothing to laugh at.
First name Rocky, last name….what’s your last name again?

Rottweiler Mix

Do you like to play? Well I like to play! We can play all day! Rope tug, chase, fetch, red rover; you name it and I would love to do it! I guess I never grew out of my puppy phase because I have enthusiasm for days! I love playing with other dogs especially, so if you already have a furry buddy I would love to meet them. Furry felines are a different story though…I don’t think they would be quite as excited about the type of games I’d want to play! I don’t play around in my crate though, that is serious business and I could be employee of the month. Same goes for my housebreaking- my skills could be winning awards! A home with kids 12+ would do me good, as I can be rambunctious and it takes me a little to warm up to some folks. If you need some love in your life and have your heart in a cage, just call on me and I can be your love Buster!

Baxter Cash

Scottish Terrier Mix
6 years old
Male
21 pounds

Hi y’all! Baxter Cash here! Four lovely gents from across the pond once said “You can’t buy me love”. Never a truer sentence has been uttered. But you can sure win the affection of a happy-go-lucky hombre such as myself, with the right kind of belly rubbing and treat tossing. I know a wise canine connoisseur such as yourself already knows all about that though, right? Being the dog centric virtuoso that your are, I know you must share the same aversion to felines that I harbor. So a cat free environment would do us both a world of good! I am a crate trained master just to let you know and I love playing with the other dogs here at the shelter. Small children on the other hand I do not like playing with. I would prefer a home with kids 12+ as they are more respectful of gentlemen such as myself. Let Baxter Cash here sweeten the pot and brighten up your dwelling! I’ll be the cuddliest dinero you ever set your mitts on!

You like girls with beautiful curves, right? A little padding for the petting? I know when I see a Greyhound I’m like “someone get that dog a milk-bone”, you know what I’m saying?!? I got all the filling in all the right places- both inside and out! Good looks and a great big personality to match! I get along well with other dogs like me, but I am not a fan of cats or little dogs… They always be in my business and I be like “listen cha-huahua, I will step on you!”.  And respectful children, I don’t mind them one bit as long as they understand how a Queen like me should be treated. I want to be treated with respect, I want everyone to know that I am the Queen of the castle. Don’t be fooled, I’ve still got energy to burn and I do like to work on my fitness, so walks around he neighborhood or some easy trail hiking would be good for me. And you best believe that I’m not only takin’ pride in myself but in my house too…so you know I keep my place clean. I also keep my place safe, real safe, my family too. Once you seen all the rest, come meet the best and get some of this Big Girl love.
