I could be your Walter… your grumpy ol man…but I promise to make you smile too. I am way more handsome then either of those dudes, I am all legs baby…long luscious legs. Besides my good looks, my acting skills could beat out Mr. Walsh’s any day. I am a great companion, I’ll make you smile, I’ll make you laugh, I’ll keep you company whenever you need. I am good with other dogs here at the shelter, and I have lived with children in the past, but the truth is I need to find a new home without kids. I play too rough and get mouthy when I’m excited. I do get a little stressed and over stimulated easily, so a quiet household will suit me best. I got be honest, I am just not the take to Saturday market, waterfront, dog park type of guy…. Me and my bro Snookie need a new home. Oh, no, don’t worry we don’t have to go home together, in fact it’d be real good if we went our separate ways..See, we are shy and pretty scared here in rescue. It’s just so stressful for lil guys like us, the is a big world and really haven’t had the opportunity to see much of it. I do really like people though, and I’ve been making friends with the staff here really quickly. I’v made a ton of dog buddies too! Boy o-boy I just love to play! I’m also doing really well keeping my crate clean, so any continued training shouldn’t be hard. We came from a home where nobody really cared for us. We where just kind of left to figure everything out for ourselves. I really look forward to someone working with me, taking me to obedience school, and giving me love and respect for the first time in my life… Is that too much to ask from you? Just say so if it is…I understand…it’s a rough world…

HEY! DOWN HERE! CHECK ME OUT! I’m a smart little lady named Weebus.I have some pretty tough luck, bounced from home to home….it was always one thing or the other and back into rescue I landed. It is about time I find a forever home, don’t you think? Well, I have come here to Family Dogs in hope that I can find it. Hoping I can find a patient and experienced person willing to make a lifelong commitment to me. I do excellent with the other dogs here, I love to play with them, I’ll even share my food and toys and my bed with them. But apparently I have had some trouble sharing my home with other dogs in the past, but it’s really more about me not wanting to share my person. I do adore children, however since I get possessive of my human it is best that I find a family with no young children, ok. I am totally crate trained, housebroke and I know a bunch of commands-so I’ve really got a great start. Now all I need is a wonderful loving person to guide me and show me the way…..

I know, aren’t I just lovely? Ya I know I am a beautiful lady but don’t worry I am not snooty about it! I am very loving and sweet. It might take me a minute to warm up to someone new, you know, being a hound dog I tend to follow my nose and often times seem a little distracted, but once I focus on you there is not stopping the love I will give you. I’m just a real nice dog, as a matter of fact I am crate trained already and I am working real hard on my leash manners, but I still need a little more training. I sure am sweet and gentle, plus I do well with other dogs, cats and children. I just love all the attention! However I have never learned to share my food, and us hound dogs are notorious for our strong love of food! So I do need a family where all members are old enough to understand that I don’t like to share. A lovely gal like me deserves a home of her own don’t you agree? Then come say hi to Honna Lee!

I do really well with other dogs, in fact they make me feel pretty safe and secure… new people on the other hand, they make me feel a little nervous. I have a shy personality, I am soft hearted and it easy to hurt my feelings. I just need to find a family that is very patient, loving and gentle- that shouldn’t be too hard to fine, right?

Hi there I am Eddie, a spunky little dude with a wonderful attitude. Friendly and outgoing, just a little shy of being overly handled by people I don’t know…. but if you are polite and respectful of me my heart will be yours in no time. I am loyal like you’ve never seen, so I do tend to protect my human! I do well with other dogs, although I like to get bossy sometimes and I am ok with older gentle children 12+. I gotta tell you though, cats are a no go! I am housebroken already and crate trained too, quite trainable and super food motivated-so nothing gets me going like a biscuit. If you can find space in your heart (and in your lap) for a wonderful dog like me then please, by all means, don’t hesitate to take me home!

Check out these beautiful long legs, gorgeous like a super-model. I am a big, impressive lady, I could prance right on to any runway. I am a social butterfly, I love people and am very friendly. Other dogs are fine by me as long as they don’t mind being bossed around a bit (ok, bossed around a lot! and let me tell ya, most dogs just can;t tolerate being bullied by a 180 pound beauty). I’ve shared my with cats, and that really didn’t work out so well- I just want to chase and chase, and good thing for them I got all size and no speed. I have even lived with children in the past and I do great with them, as long as they can handle my size! I am already housebroken and ride well in the car, I walk nicely on a leash and know my basic commands. I am a huge girl who will need a Big soft bed and plenty of room- don’t you know us super models need to be pampered!

Aubrey, one of the 8 wonderful dogs FDNLS rescued from the Missouri dogfighting bust in Nov 2009, is ready for a home of her own!
Aubrey is a sweet, sensitive, energetic 14 month old Pit Bull Terrier mix pup, an adorable whist of thing weighing only 34 pounds! She is 100% fun and loves to play all the time, but she’s very good about laying down and noshing on her chewies when it’s time to relax. One of her favorite things is to climb up on your lap for some snuggle time. She loves people, but she is still quite insecure and nervous in new situations so she does need to find a home without children. She gets along with other dogs but can be quite rambunctious- this girl loves to play, she will do very well with a calm, confident older dog who can teach her the ropes. Aubrey thinks it’s a blast to chase after cats (she doesn’t want to hurt them, just thinks they’re fun toys) so a cat free home would be best. Since new situations can overwhelm Aubrey it is important that she find a patient owner that will take things slow with her at first. She loves to throw her toys around in the air and thinks squeaky toys are the best thing. Aubrey is an active girl with a lot of drive, she is very very smart and will need an adopter committed to training and socializing her. This pup has loads of potential and is eagerly waiting for a home where she can blossom into a wonderful pet.
